Description

The Unitree G1-D Standard E U5 is the fixed-base dual-arm humanoid in the G1-D family fitted with BrainCo Revo 2 Tactile five-finger dexterous hands. The distinction matters: the Tactile build adds haptic sensing to the five-finger hand, so the robot does not merely close its fingers around an object, it registers the contact. For research groups working on grasp quality, compliant handling or closed-loop manipulation, that feedback channel is often the difference between a demonstration and an experiment.

Like the other Standard builds, the U5 mounts the humanoid upper body on a fixed base rather than a mobile chassis. The workspace is therefore constant, the setup reproducible, and the research effort concentrated on the arms, torso and hands instead of on locomotion and localisation. Unitree positions the configuration for advanced manipulation tasks across research, robotics development and AI education — the kind of environment where a laboratory wants many repeatable trials at a single station rather than a robot that roams a building.

Haptic sensing broadens what those trials can cover. Tactile feedback supports work on delicate or deformable objects, slip detection studies, force-aware demonstration learning and multimodal datasets that pair vision with touch — an increasingly common requirement in embodied AI training. Combined with the anthropomorphic five-finger geometry, it lets the U5 engage with tools and objects built for human hands without adapting the environment to a parallel gripper.

Robotix Market sources the Unitree G1-D range new through established distribution channels, and every unit is supplied with the full manufacturer's warranty provided by Unitree Robotics. Technical questions and any warranty work are coordinated with the manufacturer's service network. Because the G1-D is a research-grade platform, we recommend confirming your intended workcell layout, power provision and software toolchain with our team before ordering.

Features

BrainCo Revo 2 Tactile five-finger hands Both arms carry BrainCo Revo 2 Tactile five-finger dexterous hands, combining anthropomorphic grasp geometry with haptic sensing at the point of contact.
Haptic sensing for advanced manipulation Tactile feedback supports contact-aware handling — delicate or deformable objects, slip detection and force-aware demonstration learning — rather than open-loop grasping alone.
Fixed-base humanoid configuration A stationary base keeps the workspace constant and the experiment reproducible, removing navigation and localisation variables from manipulation trials.
Dual-arm bimanual capability Two coordinated arms enable two-handed sequences such as hold-and-manipulate, tool hand-overs and bimanual assembly.
Research, robotics and AI education focus Unitree positions the Standard E U5 for research, robotics development and AI education, suiting university labs and teaching programmes working on embodied AI.
Multimodal dataset collection Pairing touch data with vision makes the platform useful for building multimodal manipulation datasets for machine-learning training.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Unitree G1-D Standard E U5 used for?

It is a fixed-base dual-arm humanoid robot built for advanced manipulation tasks in research, robotics development and AI education. Its tactile hands make it particularly suited to contact-rich work such as handling delicate objects, force-aware demonstration learning and multimodal dataset collection.

How does the Standard E U5 differ from the Standard D U4?

Both are fixed-base dual-arm humanoids on the same G1-D platform. The difference is the hand: the U5 carries BrainCo Revo 2 Tactile five-finger dexterous hands with haptic sensing, while the U4 carries the Basic, non-tactile version of the same five-finger hand.

Why does tactile sensing matter for manipulation research?

Haptic sensing gives the robot feedback at the moment of contact, which supports contact-aware behaviours such as handling deformable or fragile items, detecting slip, and modulating grip force. It also lets research teams record touch data alongside vision for multimodal machine-learning training.

How much does the Unitree G1-D Standard E U5 cost?

The Unitree G1-D Standard E U5 is listed at $53,800. That figure is indicative and can move with configuration, destination country, duties and freight, so we recommend submitting a quote request through the Robotix Market product page for a firm delivered price and current lead time.

How is the robot supplied, and what warranty and support apply?

Robotix Market sources the Unitree G1-D range new through established distribution channels, and each unit carries the full manufacturer's warranty provided by Unitree Robotics. Support and any warranty claims are coordinated with the manufacturer's service network. We ship worldwide; on-site installation and commissioning are not included.
