Description

The Unitree G1-D Standard D U4 is a next-generation fixed-base dual-arm humanoid robot from Unitree's G1-D research family, distinguished within the range by its end-effectors: a pair of BrainCo Revo 2 Basic five-finger dexterous hands. Where the Ultimate builds in the same family sit on a wheeled chassis, the Standard tier mounts the humanoid upper body on a fixed base, concentrating the platform's engineering and its budget on the arms, torso and hands rather than on locomotion. For laboratories whose research question is manipulation rather than navigation, that is a deliberate and usually welcome trade.

The defining element of the D configuration is the five-finger hand. A five-digit, human-proportioned end-effector lets the robot approach objects, tools and fixtures that were designed around the human hand, without re-tooling the environment to suit a parallel gripper. That makes the U4 a natural fit for imitation and demonstration learning, tool-use studies, hand-over and human-robot interaction experiments, and any dataset-collection programme where the grasp taxonomy needs to resemble a person's. The Revo 2 Basic is the non-tactile build of the hand; the tactile version, which adds haptic sensing, is fitted to the Standard E U5 in the same family.

A fixed base also simplifies the experimental setup considerably. The robot occupies a known, repeatable workspace, so trials can be reproduced without a navigation stack, localisation drift or floor-space arbitration in the loop. Unitree positions the Standard D U4 for academic research, robotics development and interactive AI work, and the configuration suits teaching labs, university manipulation groups and corporate R&D benches building toward embodied AI.

Robotix Market sources the Unitree G1-D range new through established distribution channels, and every unit is supplied with the full manufacturer's warranty provided by Unitree Robotics. Technical questions and any warranty work are coordinated with the manufacturer's service network. Because the G1-D is a research-grade platform, we recommend confirming your intended workcell layout, power provision and software toolchain with our team before ordering.

Features

BrainCo Revo 2 Basic five-finger hands Both arms are fitted with BrainCo Revo 2 Basic five-finger dexterous hands, giving the robot an anthropomorphic grasp geometry for precise, human-like manipulation.
Fixed-base humanoid configuration The humanoid upper body is mounted on a fixed base rather than a mobile chassis, keeping the workspace stable, repeatable and free of navigation variables.
Dual-arm architecture Two coordinated arms support bimanual tasks — holding and manipulating, tool hand-overs and two-handed assembly sequences — rather than single-arm pick and place.
Built for research and AI training Unitree positions the U4 for academic research, robotics development and interactive AI, making it suited to manipulation labs and embodied-AI data collection.
Human-designed environments, unmodified A five-finger end-effector lets the robot work with tools, handles and fixtures made for human hands, without re-engineering the workcell around a parallel gripper.
Part of the wider G1-D family Shares the G1-D platform with the fixed-base Standard and wheel-base Ultimate builds, so a lab can standardise on one architecture and vary base type and hand fitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Unitree G1-D Standard D U4 used for?

It is a fixed-base dual-arm humanoid robot used for academic research, robotics development and interactive AI work. Typical applications include manipulation and grasping research, imitation and demonstration learning, tool-use studies, and human-robot interaction experiments carried out at a fixed workstation.

What makes the Standard D U4 different from the other G1-D configurations?

Two things define any G1-D build: the base and the hands. The U4 is a Standard build, so the humanoid upper body sits on a fixed base rather than a wheeled chassis, and it is fitted with BrainCo Revo 2 Basic five-finger dexterous hands. The Standard E U5 uses the tactile version of the same hand, while the Ultimate builds move to a wheel base.

What do the BrainCo Revo 2 Basic hands add?

They are five-finger dexterous hands, so the robot can form human-like grasps and work with objects, tools and fixtures designed around the human hand. The Basic designation refers to the non-tactile build of the hand; the haptic-sensing version is offered on the Standard E U5.

How much does the Unitree G1-D Standard D U4 cost?

The Unitree G1-D Standard D U4 is listed at $49,800. That figure is indicative and can move with configuration, destination country, duties and freight, so we recommend submitting a quote request through the Robotix Market product page for a firm delivered price and current lead time.

How is the robot supplied, and what warranty and support apply?

Robotix Market sources the Unitree G1-D range new through established distribution channels, and each unit carries the full manufacturer's warranty provided by Unitree Robotics. Support and any warranty claims are coordinated with the manufacturer's service network. We ship worldwide; on-site installation and commissioning are not included.
