The Unitree G1 Edu Ultimate U3 is a high-end humanoid configuration featuring 3-finger dexterous hands (Dex3-1) for advanced manipulation research. This variant targets laboratories and development teams requiring active grasping capability, object handling, and tool use experiments alongside bipedal locomotion and whole-body control.
The Dex3-1 three-fingered hands provide 7 active degrees of freedom per hand: 3 DOF in the thumb, 2 DOF in the index finger, and 2 DOF in the middle finger. Optional tactile sensor arrays can be installed for force-feedback manipulation and contact-aware grasping research. This configuration enables meaningful manipulation experiments without the complexity of five-finger systems.
Building on the Edu Plus foundation, the Ultimate U3 features expanded degrees of freedom totaling up to 43 DOF (body + hands). The platform includes full secondary development support, 100 TOPS GPU, and 120 N·m knee torque for dynamic locomotion combined with dexterous manipulation.
The G1 Edu Ultimate U3 serves manipulation research, embodied AI development, teleoperation studies, and mobile manipulation applications requiring coordinated locomotion and grasping. The platform bridges whole-body humanoid motion with practical end-effector capability for real-world object interaction.
