A compact collaborative robot for automation

The DOBOT MG400 features an all-in-one design with a footprint of only 190 × 190 mm. It can therefore be installed directly on a workbench, table or inside a small robotic cell.

Its compact format makes it possible to develop automated applications without requiring the space of a conventional industrial robotic arm. The MG400 is particularly suitable for small production cells, demonstrators and workstations requiring frequent configuration changes.

Precision and performance for handling tasks

The MG400 combines servomotors, encoders, drives and controllers developed by DOBOT to achieve a repeatability of ±0.05 mm.

Its 440 mm reach and maximum payload of 750 g make it suitable for applications involving small-part handling, assembly, object transfer or inspection.

Manual guidance, graphical programming and Lua

The DOBOT MG400 offers several programming methods to suit different user levels.

The drag-to-teach function allows users to move the arm directly and record the positions required for a work sequence. For more advanced applications, the MG400 also supports graphical programming and Lua scripts.

DobotStudio Pro software can be used to configure, program and control the robot from a computer.

An open platform for robotics development

The MG400 can also be used as a development platform thanks to the interfaces provided by DOBOT.

The SDK supports application development with:

  • Python
  • C++
  • C#
  • Java
  • ROS
  • MATLAB
  • LabVIEW

This open architecture facilitates integration with vision systems, sensors, external software or control architectures developed for a specific project.

Communication with external equipment

The DOBOT MG400 supports TCP/IP and Modbus TCP protocols. It can therefore exchange data with other automation equipment, computers or supervision systems.

These interfaces make it possible to integrate the robot into a robotic cell including sensors, conveyors, vision systems or other peripherals.

DOBOT MG400 applications

Thanks to its compact design and multiple programming options, the MG400 can be used for a wide range of applications:

  • Robotic handling: moving and positioning small parts
  • Loading and unloading: transferring parts between different workstations
  • Assembly: automating small repetitive operations
  • Glue dispensing: following programmed trajectories
  • Inspection and quality control: integrating the robot with cameras or sensors
  • Prototyping: developing and validating automation scenarios
  • Robotics education: programming, kinematics and automation

Collision detection and collaborative use

The MG400 integrates a collision detection function that can identify contact during robot movement.

Combined with its compact design and manual guidance programming, this function facilitates use in environments where operators, students or engineers regularly interact with the robot.
